- Be on TV ~ Doesn't everybody want their 15 minutes of fame? - Be on a Television Show (Besides News) ~ Put this one on the list when I thought there would be a good chance that I was going to be part of a news story.

- Help with a Archaeological Dig ~ Idea came when I was a young teenager and the local museum always did a Dinosaur Dig, as well as Outside Magazine #72.
- To Hold a Bold Eagle on My Arm ~ Eagles are one of my favorite Birds of Prey and I saw a Falconer hold a Hawks, Owls and a Falcon on his arm. This was when I was 12 and I even had an opportunity to start a local rehabilitation facility at home and was told that there would be a good chance every year to get a Bald Eagle to rehabilitate.
- Swim Naked ~ Just seems like fun.
- Announce at a Professional Sporting Event ~ Idea came while in High School and was announcing at the High School Hockey Games.
- Learn how to pair Wines with appropriate Foods ~ When I turned 18 and first started ordering Wine with Dinner at restaurants I just ordered the house wine, but knew the wines that I was getting were not very good.
- Learn how to tend Bar ~ Idea came when I reached 18 and went hay wild at the Liquor store.
- Watch the Tides Change on the Ocean ~ As far back as I can remember I have wanted to see this, probably due to a David Suzuki nature show.
- Play Blackjack in Las Vegas ~ Something that just seems like fun.
- Get a Tattoo ~ I think this was when I was teenager and having a discussion with my cousin Russell we came up with this idea.
- Join the Mile High Club (hopefully not alone) ~ Idea came when I first heard about the Mile High Club from a movie, or magazine.

- Go on a Roller Coaster Ride ~ Idea came when discussing amusement parks with some friends and they were all talking about their favorite Roller Coaster Rides at either Six Flags, Disney Land or Disney World and I sat their quietly until somebody asked me what my favorite Roller Coaster Ride was and I said that I had never been on a ride.
- Stay the Night/Weekend at a Ice Hotel ~ When I first saw the Ice Castle on TV and then later on saw a special on how they construct the Ice Castle.
- Have my picture taken with a Celebrity ~ Idea when I was in Lake Louise and meet some TV Announcers, members of the IOC, as well as World Class Skiers such as my Skiing Idol Herman Maier.
- Sleep in a haunted castle, house, hotel or pub ~ I was really big into the paranormal when I was in my teens and now it seems like there are TV shows and books about this everywhere.
- Experience Weightlessness ~ Inspired by a news story about Zero Gravity flights.
- Bareboat ~ Outside Magazine List #75. When I read what bareboating was it sounded like fun and something that may interest me so I put it on my list.
- Master the Bowline Knot (and other knots) ~ Outside Magazine List #44. I did always want to know how to make great fishing knots as well as what knot would be best for different situations.
- Make a Pilgrimage ~ Outside Magazine List #46. Still not sure what I would make my Pilgrimage.

Work

This part of my life goals is about careers and jobs that I would like to try during my life.
- As a Natural Resource Officer (Parks & Wildlife, at a Campground, State/Provincial Park) ~ This idea came in the winter/spring 1999 when I got a information package from a small community college in Northern Ontario and noticed that they had a Natural Resources Program that seemed to interest me. Then in spring 2000 I was tempted to apply for a small position at a Provincial Park in Manitoba and even did, however when I got a phone call to discuss a possible date for an interview I told them I no longer had any interest in the job. The reason was I realized that I wouldn't be able to work at a Park as well as coach Softball.
- On at a Resort ~ I had a cousin as well as a friend that both worked at fishing resorts and that seemed to spark my interest.
- Where people go for a Vacation ~ When I was 19 I thought it would be cool to work and live where people pay to go on a vacation.
- To Invent something ~ Idea came from a magazine.
- Retire ~ When I was in Grade 12 one of my Teachers said that the rate that people get into dept and stay in dept now and in the future would make our parents generation and our generation work well into there 60's and even into their 70's. With this happening there will be more people that will die before they get the chance to retire. I don't want to be that statistic.
- To Own my Own Business ~ Inspired by several relatives and family friends who had there own business when I was a kid.
- To Start my Own Business ~ Idea came from a business class in High School.
- To Run my/a Business (CEO, Manager) ~ I know that some people have the money to start or own a business but not everybody has the ability to lead and run a business.
- Take a Year Off of Work (before retiring) ~ When I worked at Bethel Hospital I met a patient that retired at 62 and a month after he retired he had a stroke. He told me if he could have a do over he would have taken a year or more off of work in his mid - late 50's and see if he could have worked till he was 65 instead.
- To Own my own Restaurant ~ Idea came from a business class I was taking in High School.
- Run my own Restaurant ~ Same as above. However I thought that I might only be a part owner and if I ran the restaurant as well as owned it then it would be something that is my idea as apposed to a franchise.
- Apply for a Job Over Seas ~ When I was working at Lake Louise I met several people who were from other countries working at the Hotel and then thought how cool it would be to work in some other country.

Travel

- Go to every Province / Territory in Canada ~ When I was in High School taking Geography I realized how diverse Canada was and decided that traveling across Canada would be great as it has so much to offer.
- Go to every State in the United States ~ Also while in High School I was taking American History and thought that if Canada has that much to offer that the USA would have lots to offer as well. Just compare the amount of countries that could fit inside Canada and USA.
- Go to Europe ~ As far as I can remember I always wanted to go to Europe and see the Castles and Churches that were built there so many years ago.
- Go to Asia ~ When learning about my family heritage when I was a kid I wanted to learn about where my ancestors came from and found out that they were from Russia (the old USSR) and thought that some day I could go there and see where and how they lived.
- Go to South America ~ When I was in the early years of Elementary School I had several friends from different areas of South America and they explained how different it was from Winkler, Manitoba and that's whey I decided that that someday I would enjoy going to South America.
- Go to Africa ~ I loved watching the documentaries of Africa's wildlife as well as their different civilizations as it seems so primitive yet evolved in its own way.
- Go to the Scandinavian Countries ~ One of my high school teachers told me that this would probably be an area that I would love, because of the culture, food, landscapes, and history.
- Go to Switzerland ~ Switzerland being one
- Go to Fort Lauderdale ~ This was the Horny High School Student in me wanting to do something different for Spring Break. No longer a real priority but if I was in that area of Florida I would definitely want to stop by there.
- See a Volcano ~ Through the studies of Geology while in school.
- Watch a Volcanic Eruption ~ Got this idea while reading a story about Kayaking in the Hawaiian Islands.
- See the Mountains ~ Growing up in the Prairies made the Mountains seem special as a child.
- See The Ocean ~ Growing up in the Prairies the Ocean's seemed so far away.
- Go to Niagara Falls ~ Got this idea when I was a child as every day would start off with O Canada and when watching Television they would show the Falls.
- See the Pyramids in Egypt ~ I was probably 8 or 9 when I studied Pyramids and Egyptian Civilization for the first time for a school project and learning about the Egyptian Gods and all the Pharaohs which in turn made me want to someday get to witness these amazing man-made feats in person.
- See the Nile River ~ Also came from my first studies of Egypt.
- Go on a Cruise Ship Vacation ~ Not sure where this idea first came from
- Go on a Holiday with only a tooth brush and a Credit Card ~ I believe this idea came from Outside Magazine.
- Throw a Dart at Map of North America And Drive there ~ I believe this idea came from a movie I saw when I just got my drivers license.
- To See the Sun Rise and Set twice on the same day ~ This one came from the idea I first had in 1999 just before New Years, of standing on the International Date Line and jump between days, but since the International Date Line doesn't run through any land mass this one is impossible. I figured out that this is possible but would probably require a renting a private jet.
- To see all the 7 Wonders of the World (Stonehenge, Colosseum, Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, Great Wall of China, Porcelain Tower of Nanjing, Hangia Sophia, Leaning Tower of Pisa) ~ Idea came from while reading an article in a Travel Magazine.
- Drive to the Road's End ~ Idea came from Outside Magazine's List of things to do before you die.
In Texas's Big Bend National Park, drive up the road ending at the Juniper Canyon approach to the lonely Chisos Mountains. Everywhere you look will be cacti and birds, unpeopled brush, rock, sandy gravel, and a big, empty temptation.
- Go to Every National Park in Canada (There are 42 National Parks in Canada) ~ Idea came during my first visit to Riding Mountain National Park in 1994. During this visit I spent some time at the visitors center and watched some short movies about Canadian National Parks. I also love parks.
- Go to Every National Park in United States (there are 58 National Parks in the U.S.) ~ Idea came during 1998 when I read a magazine article about the top 10 National Parks in the United States.

Education/Learning

- Learn the Native Trees, Flowers & Wildlife of Manitoba ~ Thought of this when I was hiking by myself in 1999. Thought it would be good to know what is native to Manitoba because I would want a yard that was full of wild flowers.
- Learn the Native Trees, Flowers & Wildlife of Texas ~ Thought of this in 2007 during the first full summer that I was living in Texas and was wondering what all the trees, and flowers were and most of the people I asked couldn't tell me what was what.
- Graduate High School ~ When I was in Elementary school, I saw my cousins needing help writing a resume, and applications. They got my mom to help them as well as I was helping them with spelling and I was only 11 and realized how important school was then so I said I would have to graduate High School so I didn't become like them and the many others of relatives that were like that or worse.
- Go to College or University ~ When I was 9-10 I decided that I didn't want to have the option of working in either a foundry or working on a assembly line because that is all the options I had. - Go back to University or College ~ After being in the work force for just over a year I thought that I would enjoy going back to college or university to get a better career.
- Get a Masters Degree ~ When I was 20 I thought that I would enjoy getting my Masters Degree in something someday. Even if this would only be after I retire or in something that would never be my career it would just be something that would interest me.
- Learn another Language (Italian, Greek, Latin, Spanish, Cree, in this order are languages I am interested in learning) ~ Idea came in Grade 8 because I didn't care to learn French as I said I would never need it. Was wrong there. However figured that I would enjoy learning these other languages instead instead of French.
- Learn Sign Language ~ Inspired by a client I worked with at Gateway Resources who was/is a Deaf/Mute. Became even more important when I realized how other staff at G.R. didn't even take the time to acknowledge this person because they didn't know how to interact with them and couldn't be bothered to learn how to say Hi or Good Morning or anything else which the average person takes for granted.
- Learn to Juggle (3 balls with two hands and do so for 1 minute) ~ I enjoyed watching performers juggle when I was young and when I was old enough to babysit my little sister I always tried to juggle to get her to stop crying and since I couldn't do it she laughed and that in turn got her to stop crying. I got better as this through out the years but never really got it down. When I was 13 I was about to juggle some eggs while in the kitchen and my mom caught me and told me that I could only juggle eggs in the house once I was able to juggle 3 tennis balls for 5 minutes with out dropping them and be able to do this more than once. I think she just took 5 minutes as random number so I figure if I could do it for a minute I could probably do 5 minutes so thats where this one comes from.

Will learning this make me smarter? Who knows but I don think that that you should learn something new every day. Sometimes we learn things that are useful and the rest is useless but why shouldn't you know useless stuff? Useless stuff is great for starting conversations which in turn could be how you learn something useful.

Life & Health

Life - Get Married ~ When I was younger I used to think that my life wouldn't be anything if I didn't get married. When I was in my teens I said that if I wasn't married by the time I was 26 I wouldn't get married.
- Have a Child/Children ~ Thought that having kids would be great when I was in my late teens and early 20's. Have changed now but could change my opinion again. - Adopt a Child ~ I know that adopting a child could change the life better for one child as there are too many children that don't have anybody to call mom or dad. - Sign a Organ Donor Card ~ I know too many people that have needed Organ Transplants and benefited from this. Namely Russell. - Write a Will ~ I know I have nothing that anybody wants but that might change. - Write a Living Will (advanced health care directive) ~ I don't want others to have to decide what too do if I go into a coma or if something serious happens to me. When working at the hospital I saw too many people uncertain and fight over what a loved one would want done. - To Die ~ This should be my last thing on my list to get checked off. (unless I get published after I die) - To Own my own place ~ I think that the pride of owning your own place would be great. This could be a House, Cabin or House Trailer.

Health
- Set a Broken Bone ~ When I was 14 I broke my thumb and enjoyed how the doctor made sure my thumb was in place before casting it. Several years later I helped a doctor fix a dislocated hip. - Witness an Autopsy ~ When I was in my Nursing Assistant Course I signed up for to watch an Autopsy but that got canceled. - Learn Wilderness First Aide ~ To many things can go wrong while out in the outdoors and you don't always have the required supplies and resources that you would in urban areas. - Donate Blood ~ I knew at a young age that there was always a need for that and would always be. When I worked at the Hospital I noticed the need even more. - Learn CPR ~ Recall my Dad learning CPR when I was a kid and having to use it on my sister when she was 4 or 5 years old. Knew then that this was something I wanted to know how to do. - Witness a Surgery ~ Loved watching surgeries on TV in my teens and seeing pictures in books. When I was 16 I had surgery on my hand and was told I could watch but upon getting into the surgery the surgical nurses said I couldn't watch. A year later I had another surgery and asked if I could watch that one but I was put under for that one.

Fishing

- Catch a Master Angler Fish ~ When I was in 10 - 14 I always read the years Master Angler Awards and always wanted to see my name on that list. I came close when I was 11.
- Catch and Release a Sword Fish ~ When I was young I watched a fishing show that showed this and it made me want to try that someday.
- Catch and Release a Marlin ~ Same as above. Became more of a goal in February 2008 after reading Old Man and the Sea.
- Make my own Fishing Lure ~ I loved reading about the art of tying flies when I was 16 and thought that I would like to do that someday.
- Catch a Fish on a lure I made ~ I read that this was the reward from creating your own fly.
- Go Ice fishing ~ My mom explained how much fun she had as a child ice fishing with her uncle and it made me want to do that someday.
- Go Fly fishing ~ Looked so peaceful when I saw this on TV and in 1998 I was in Montana and seeing people fly fish made it look even more fun.
- Fish at a fly in lake ~ My friend Steve B. worked at a fly in lodge and it sounded like fun so I thought I would like to experience that someday.
- Fish in a Fishing tournament ~ I love competition so what better way to combine fishing than with a competition.
